Splatter was lucky enough to get funding for a free 6-week pottery course for those with disabilities. The course allows someone living locally, the opportunity to learn some basic skills working with clay. Create their own artwork to sell and learn a little about starting a small creative micro-business.
The culmination of this course will have the participants pottery being displayed at the Matariki Star Glaze Festival in Ōtaki, and we will take them there for a supported day trip.
Unfortunately, we only had 6 openings for places and easily three times that responded overnight. But we are currently working on gaining funding for next term and are opening up a wait list for those interested. For those how wish to inquire further or know someone who may be interested, check out our contact details below.
For those interested in a more casual experience, we are open Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm. We also have our normal workshops listed on our website, usually clay related. But we occasionally do soft materials, bath and body and general arts and crafts.
