Welcome to our After School Mixed Media Club series.
We're aiming for a nice comfortable atmosphere where creative people, who might need a little help, can get to making. All age groups are welcome, but children under 14 must be accompanied by a caregiver or parent.
We will be sitting around a table or two in our shop at 93 Taonui St, and we're hoping for a social gathering as well as a creative one. Everyone who just wants to share a creative experience is welcome.
During the ten-week course, held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., we will be working on a wide range of mixed media. We will be experimenting with a range of different materials to create unique arts and crafts. Final choice of materials and activities in the workshops will depend on the composition of participants and be guided by their collective interest.

- air dry clay
- bead making
- beading
- jewellery making
- construction
- hand sewing
- scrap booking and junk journal ideas.
The goal is for mainly self-guided creation with us providing assistance and guidance when needed. We can discuss what types of things you would like to make with the materials that week and go over plans to achieve the best results.
Invoices/receipts can be sent to access individual funding and enabling better lives funding. If you have concerns or needs, please feel free to contact us to discuss.
This workshop is great for all ages and abilities from complete beginner to those more experienced.
Hand building Clay - After your workshop your pieces will need to dry for 2-3 weeks before being bisque fired. at this stage you will be contacted to come and paint glaze on your piece. It will then get clear glazed and full fired for a beautiful shine. This could take 4-6 weeks all together so please consider this if creating for a special occasion and book in early.
Painted glaze on items - It will need a short time to dry and then get clear glazed and full fired for a beautiful shine. This could take 2-3 weeks all together, depending on school holidays etc.
Glass Fusion- We fire our glass kiln infrequently but usually process within two weeks.
Hobby/Model Making, Painting,etc. These are usually same day. Care must be taken if the item is glued of painted.
Soft textiles, Bath and Beauty etc These are all usually same day. And you get to leave with your crafts.

- If for some reason the workshop cannot go ahead due to insufficient numbers or other reasons, you will be notified up to 3 days before the booking date. We can then discuss rescheduling or a refund.
Gift Cards:
- Our gift cards are redeemable for merchandise and workshops only at Splatter Palmerston North.
- Your use of this gift card constitutes acceptance of our terms.
- This card may be applied toward any purchase made at any Splatter Palmerston North location.
- It is not exchangeable for cash or replaced if lost or stolen.
Other Important Terms - Please Read:
- We may from time to time photograph you and your artwork for the purpose of promoting the workshop via social media channels, email or newspapers etc. If you don't wish to be photographed, please let us know during the workshop.
- Splatter Studio is not responsible for any medical bills which may result from illness or injury during a workshop or any other event at Splatter Studio. Splatter Studio and/or the instructor of the workshop are not responsible for any liability and/or claims/damage.

There is usually no need to bring anything - all materials are supplied.
However sometimes we have workshops where you might want to bring items to incorporate into your crafting.
